One of our key developments is the adoption and use of wireless network portable technology such as laptops and touch screen devices across Bute. We provide class banks of Apple iPads and Chromebooks in each Year Group to enhance their learning.
The girls have been keen to embrace this technology and this helps them to realise that IT skills and knowledge can be applied outside a ‘traditional’ computer suite and across other subjects. We have also recently invested in touch screen laptops/tablets in our new Digital Learning Suite to further enhance the girls’ learning and experience.
The classrooms are equipped with wall-mounted interactive smart boards and the teachers use visualisers throughout their lessons. Pupils can proudly print their work on the network colour laser printers around the school. We also capture every girl’s educational journey on the range of digital cameras, camcorders and a selection of tablets.
Additional IT skills and experiences like using the Google for Education system, Crumble Board technology, advance coding, LEGO WeDo and enhanced multimedia presentations using green screen resources have been developed in partnership with the Year Groups to meet the demands of 21st Century learning and to further enhance the girls’ skills outside the discrete lessons.
